| The LAI Educational Network (EdNet) is a group of universities and colleges working together and with LAI industry and government members to develop and deploy curriculum based on lean and Six Sigma research and practical knowledge. Formed in 2002, the EdNet currently includes more than 35 member schools that have signed the EdNet No-Cost Collaborative Agreement. Faculty from these schools, together with LAI members, have developed and offered a three or five day LAI Lean AcademyTM course to more than 1000 students and 50 instructors to date. The 2008 Summer Workshop, to be held on Purdue University’s West Lafayette, Indiana campus on July 28-30, offers faculty an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues in a casual setting through participation in a variety of working sessions and group discussions designed to stimulate research and curriculum development. | We would like to extend our thanks to our Special Guest Speakers, Dr. Deanna Willis, – Medical Director for Quality and Medical Management & Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine, Indiana University Medical Group and TBD. Their presentations and expertise will provide welcome insights into two of our new focus areas. We would also like to extend our thanks to Caterpillar, who will host an optional tour of their Large Engine Center – a truly impressive 1.3 million square foot facility manufacturing the world’s largest, most technologically advanced diesel engines. |
